PBIS

What is PBIS?

🌟 Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based framework that promotes positive behavior, social-emotional development, and academic success.

  • PBIS focuses on teaching, modeling, and reinforcing positive behaviors rather than focusing solely on discipline.

  • It helps create a safe, predictable, and welcoming environment where all students can learn and thrive.

Why We Implement PBIS
💡 PBIS supports our commitment to building a positive school culture where every student feels valued and supported.

  • Encourages a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.

  • Reduces suspensions and referrals, increasing valuable learning time.

  • Builds student confidence and social-emotional skills such as empathy and self-regulation.

  • Promotes strong teacher–student relationships and improves overall school climate.

How PBIS Works at Our School
🏫 Our school uses PBIS to teach clear behavioral expectations and recognize students who demonstrate them daily.

  • Expectations are taught and practiced in all school settings (classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and playground).

  • Students receive positive recognition for making good choices.

  • Staff regularly review behavior data to identify needs and celebrate progress.

  • Families are encouraged to reinforce these positive expectations at home.

PBIS Incentives & Rewards
🎉 We love to celebrate positive choices! Students can earn recognition individually or as a class.
Examples include:

  • Caught Being Good tickets or tokens

  • Certificates and special shout-outs at assemblies

  • Class reward days and special privileges

  • Spirit events and themed celebrations

  • School-wide recognition for consistent positive behavior

How Families Can Support PBIS
🤝 Families play an important role in supporting our PBIS goals.

  • Talk with your child about school expectations and encourage positive choices.

  • Celebrate positive behavior at home.

  • Ask about any PBIS tickets, slips, or certificates your child brings home.

  • Partner with us—if behavior concerns arise, we’ll work together to support your child.
